What is GTMC?

The GTMC works together with its Members and Industry Partners to raise the profile of the vital role of business travel on the broader economy. Delivering practical solutions to challenges, cross industry issues and market changes is part of the core work of the GTMC.

The key speakers at the event have been IAG chief Willie Walsh and Travelport executive vice president and CCO Stephen Shurrock. Walsh presented a speech followed by a live interview on Monday morning. Other speakers of note have been William Hobbs, head of strategic investment at Barclays who is talking about the state of the world economy. David Trunkfield, partner at PwC who will be discussing how travel companies are managing and Steve Richards who is a broadcaster for Radio 4, that will be analysing the shift in political landscape in the UK and abroad.

The event has been sponsored by Travelport, Barclaycard, British Airways, Aer Lingus, Iberia, Amadeus, Carey, Meet In Ireland and Conference and Incentive Travel as well as many others.

Before the event Adrian Parkes, CEO of the GTMC said: “The confusion over Brexit and the UK’s future border arrangements with the Republic are sure to feature in the thoughts of delegates as we bring our conference to Ireland.

“I am especially looking forward to discovering how Steve Richards views the situation. He has a long career in political journalism and as host of Week in Westminster on Radio 4 is very well connected to the biggest figures in the government. I’m sure we will get some fascinating insight from him.”
