Accountable to: Head of Events, Commercial
Location: Home Based
Positions available: Two
Reporting to the Head of Events, you will be responsible for selling events and group travel-related services to a variety of businesses. An autonomous role where you will need to hit the ground running, not just owning your opportunities from start to finish, but looking for ways to improve the general sales process.
Researching, generating and nurturing new leads and event opportunities
Securing own appointments and delivering credentials presentations
Taking briefs and pitching for new business
Sending out bespoke proposals to clients
Independent forecasting and budgeting in line with company strategies
Securing and winning new business
Working towards and meeting regular sales targets
Inputting all sales activity on the company CRM system
Working closely with management to ensure sales strategies are in line with general marketing
Collaborating with account management, operations, finance, marketing and the Business Travel sales teams
Keeping up to date with industry trends and reporting back on these
Attending industry networking events to meet new contacts and generate business
COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
Confident and articulate to pitch and negotiate at board level
A consultative, solutions-based sales methodology
Gravitas from experience gained in the industry
Ability to balance and effectively prioritise a workload of often evolving client specifications
Competent in setting and measuring objectives
Initiative with a creative approach to problem-solving
A personable, approachable and likeable personality
Self-starter and team player
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of three years sales experience within another agency is desirable but not essential
Provable sales figures from cold
An understanding of the Cvent event technology platform would be preferred
Experience in using the Microsoft Office suite, Excel, PowerPoint and Word in particular
Knowledge of events overseas would be advantageous
