Increase In European Air Traffic

the skies are getting busier

As lockdown measures continue to ease, there’s plenty to be positive about when it comes to air travel. With airlines and airports exercising a good degree of caution with safety measures surrounding flying, we’re witnessing an increase of travellers, travelling again.

Airline associations and airports have worked tirelessly with governments in the UK, Europe and further afield to introduce various standards for health and safety protocols, which allow travellers to take to the skies once more. We’ve even seen the UK agree a plan to ease quarantine measures to allow travellers to move from country to country more freely. Check out our Traveller Toolkit for the very latest updates.

Travellers’ confidence has been further boosted, knowing that airlines have introduced safety measures such as; pre-allocated seats with gaps created between individuals and groups, cabin crew dressed in full personal protective equipment (PPE) and many aircraft fitted with HEPA filters that remove particulate and bacterial contamination from cabin air.

With the help of EUROCONTROL we’ve compiled some of the latest stats to give you an idea of the current air traffic levels in Europe, including comparisons with the same period in 2019.
