We recently chatted with our friends at ITA Airways to learn all about their new routes, latest technology, and ongoing commitment to sustainable flying.
ITA Airways is forever expanding. The flagship Italian airline currently operates to 64 destinations worldwide – 10 intercontinental, 33 international, and 21 domestic – including a selection of seasonal destinations, such as flights from both Milan Linate and Rome Fiumicino to Lampedusa, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, and more. With such a globally-reaching service, it’s little surprise that ITA Airways exist at the cutting-edge of flight innovation. We wanted to find out more.
An Expanding Network
The ITA Airways intercontinental network is constantly expanding. Two, new, cross-Atlantic routes were opened this summer, with a Rome -San Francisco route joining Rome – Washington DC. But that’s not all for 2023. The Winter schedule will see a direct flight from Rome to Malé, as well as a daily flight from Rome to Rio De Janeiro.
Rome continues to be an effective hub for the airline’s intercontinental network, allowing same-day connections from London to destinations such as Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and São Paulo. Daily flights from Milan Malpensa to New York (JFK) are also available. They are also expanding their short-haul network, with a new direct flight from Milan Linate to Trieste that opened at the start of September 2023.

Commitment to Sustainability
Sustainability is a major focus for ITA Airways. As part of their ESG goals, they aim to become carbon neutral by 2050 through a gradual reduction their net carbon emissions.
In order to achieve this goal, they have taken steps such as investing in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and expansive carbon offset programs. In the short- to medium-term, ITA Airways has been constantly upgrading its fleet to next-generation aircraft. The airline also has a goal of having 80% of its fleet be next-generation aircraft by 2026.

The ROI of Business Travel
Business travel is often viewed as a cost to manage, especially in uncertain economic times, but when approached with clear intent, it becomes a powerful driver of business success. Purpose-driven travel strengthens relationships, accelerates revenue opportunities, and enables collaboration in ways that virtual interactions cannot fully replicate. By focusing on value rather than volume, organisations can unlock long-term growth, improve operational efficiency, and ensure every trip contributes meaningfully to strategic objectives.
How Leakage Can Derail Your Travel Programme (And How to Stop It)

Solving Travel and Expense Management Challenges
Travel and expense management remains a persistent challenge for many organisations. Traveller leakage, policy non-compliance, and fragmented expense processes often create unnecessary costs, administrative burden, and limited visibility over travel spend. These issues not only affect financial control but also increase risk and reduce the overall effectiveness of a managed travel programme.
This guide explores the most common problems businesses encounter when managing corporate travel and expenses and explains how a proactive partnership with a Travel Management Company (TMC) can help solve them. From encouraging adoption of centralised booking tools and enforcing travel policy to integrating modern expense management platforms and improving reporting, the right approach can transform the way your organisation travels – delivering stronger cost control, better data insights, and improved duty of care for your travellers.
