OUR HISTORY

We are proud to be one of the leading independent travel management companies in the UK. First established in 1865 by Scottish entrepreneur Archibald Gray and partner Edwin Sandys Dawes, Gray Dawes was initially a shipping and insurance company.

We evolved into a travel management company back in 1927, when Gray Dawes became only the second company in the world to be awarded an IATA licence. Still privately owned to this day, by the supportive Inchcape family, we continue to be pioneers within the industry almost a century later.

From our beginnings as a shipping company to managing the first commercial flight from London to Cairo, our journey has continued through the years, and we now employ over 500 staff across the globe.

We pride ourselves on our history and heritage, are fiercely protective of our independent, family-owned status and actively bring to life the values we hold dear.
