MAIN PURPOSE
Using strong commercial skills and expert knowledge of the Leisure Travel Industry, you will be responsible for driving the organisations proposition, marketing, commercial and business development functions to grow the business.
To manage delivery of operational excellence for Leisure in the UK, Australia and the US including strategic input and tactical delivery of a 3-year plan to increase turnover, operational efficiency, and profitability.
You will use data and metrics to monitor the operational and commercial efficiency of the Leisure teams using current/future KPI/SLA models.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Director of Leisure Responsibilities
You will be responsible for leading a team 6 people (includes 2 vacancies) in the UK and a smaller team in Australia and US which includes IC’s. Our UK presence includes a high-end retail store in the affluent town of Harrogate branded as Ventur Luxury.
You will create and deliver strategic initiatives to grow the business which will involve developing the organisations proposition, managing and shaping the suppliers they work with (air/hotel/cruise/ancillaries), engaging with trade partners to retain and grow the customer base. You will be operating at a strategic level in the business with the expectation of rolling your sleeves up to drive things forward from the ground up.
SKILLS REQUIRED
The successful applicant must have:
- A sound knowledge of the UK Leisure Travel Industry – online and retail travel agencies, tour operators etc
- Desirable is a working knowledge of the US and Australian market
- Broad commercial skill-set with experience of developing customer propositions and delivering multi-function strategic initiatives
- Inspirational people leadership skills
- Strong financial acumen with experience of managing P&L’s
- Experience of supplier negotiations and management
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience of building and maintaining a viable IC community
