The requirement for a team building element is a frequently recurring theme when we talk to clients about the shape and purpose of their next company event. At GD Events we are also frequently struck by many of the solutions which see the light of day and question whether they have any lasting value back in the workplace.
At GD Events we are building a reputation for devising solutions which are altogether more original, imaginative and enjoyable for the participants.
A challenging format, with the emphasis nevertheless firmly on fun, ensures that the winning team will have demonstrated the key elements of successful teamwork – planning, setting priorities, assessing the strengths and weaknesses of each team member, excellent communication, mutual support and the ability to cope with the unexpected when faced with the everyday scourge of corporate life…..the ‘moving goalposts’!
In this area of team development, GD Events likes to work in particular with the Sundial organisation, whose Teamscapes offer a format which fits in perfect harmony with the GD approach.
Teamscapes are indoor and outdoor team building activities that challenge the brain, not the body. Available only at Sundial’s dedicated conference venues in Surrey, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire, they offer creative solutions to a wide range of team development needs.
Teamscapes activities and exercises simulate workplace issues in a non-threatening manner, allowing companies to see how their people will respond and interact in certain situations. They are based around the idea of experiential learning – learning by doing.
A debriefing session evaluates the teams’ successes and failures, and identifies learning outcomes that can be transferred back to the workplace to improve performance beyond the teambuilding event.
