Accountable for: Agreed Sales Target – SME-Mid Market

Main Purpose

To achieve sales targets by promoting and selling the company’s services and products to existing and new customers.  Make a positive contribution to the growth and profitability of the business by identifying and winning new business.

Key Accountabilities

Plan and prioritise sales activities and customer/prospect contact to achieve agreed sales targets and business objectives.

Identify and qualify new business opportunities. Generate and follow-up leads to agreed targets and timescales.  Meet potential new clients within agreed timescales. 

Use customer and prospect CRM tools and systems to plan sales activity and ensure that these systems are kept up to date at all times.

Attend and present at external customer meetings and also at internal meetings.

Produce and maintain a detailed business and travel activity profile for all prospective new customers so that the potential business can be evaluated and, where appropriate, a full and accurate tender submitted.

Provide accurate and up-to-date information, relating to new clients and new business, to other departments within Gray Dawes to ensure that clients trade to their full potential.

Ensure that databases and management information is always up-to-date and accurate.

Produce routine and ad-hoc reports as required.

Work closely with Account Managers to ensure that existing accounts are maintained, sales maximised and targets met. Also work to ensure that the relationships are professionally maintained and developed.

ExperienceProven record of success in sales role within a service environment. Identification and development of new business opportunities through to fulfilment. Negotiating with key decision makersBusiness travel sales.
Skills/KnowledgeEffective persuading and influencing skills. Word; Excel; PowerPoint; A CRM. Accurate and clear written communication skills.  Able to self-manage and prioritise workload. Presentation skills.Industry knowledge. Understanding of tendering and pricing processes.
Ability/aptitudeAbility to develop and maintain good customer relationships. Able to accurately assess customer needs and expectations. Motivated by the achievement of targets. Able to assimilate information and knowledge accurately e.g: market trends; competitors. Respond positively when under pressure to achieve targets and deadlines.Existing knowledge of current trends and conditions within the Business Travel Industry.
Special RequirementsAble to travel within the UK, and to stay away from home as necessary. Project a professional image on behalf of the company at all times. Able to attend out-of-hours events/ training/presentations. Full, clean driving license.
